    Three top things I worry about are marketing, staffing and capital. The top three things my manufacturer asks about are inventory, warranty expense and customer satisfaction. It is curious but unsurprising that the sharpest tools in my dealer information systems (for which I pay over $100,000 a year) are for inventory, warranty expense and customer satisfaction, but don't drill down on staffing, marketing or capital.

  • Dealers want secure connections

    A dealership group recently discovered that more than 100 third-party vendors had unauthorized access to its Reynolds and Reynolds Co. computer system. The unauthorized access is not surprising – subscription may be required.

    Comment: Protecting dealer system integrity and ensuring only dealer authorized access occurs is critical, but that objective should not limit integrated third-party options for dealers. Let us know what you think?
